Around Long Island Regatta 2021

The Around Long Island Regatta started for the 44th time last Thursday. For the last 7 years the regatta - which is organized by Sea Cliff Yacht Club - is starting in the New York Harbor. After a traditional breakfast hosted by our club members on board the light ship, the racers embarked on board 70 boats. The start line was between the Willie Wall and Le Penich - captained by member Jim Chambers.

acing the storm on the first night, both boats rounded Montauk on mid-day Friday. Kate finished the race on Saturday 7/31/2021 at 6:59am - after 41 hours.



Sadly - Veronica had engine trouble preventing her from charging her batteries, so mid day Saturday had to abandon the race in order to get mechanic service in Port Jefferson. Both boats are back home in LLM and all crew got back home safe, exhausted and full of stories memories that will last for years to come…
