The Atlantic Highlands Rendezvous was a hit ! ⚓️
The first LYC rendezvous of 2021 was an absolute success. Late morning and early afternoon on Saturday boats set out southbound taking various courses but all converging on the Atlantic Highlands area.
Although the gloomy skies did their best to dissuade us from the trip, the surprisingly fresh breeze gave most a fun ride south. Lots of food & drink while mixing aboard with the various crews and the chance to tour other boats and fantastic hospitality from all who were there. A cool, still and quiet night for sleep and beautiful blue skies on Sunday morning made the voyage worth it alone !
We ended up with a combined armada of over 12 boats from LLM & the Morris Canal, a substantial percentage of which were LYC club members.
In all, 2 boats took moorings there were two groups of 4 rafted boats, +one more on its own anchor and 2 others that took slips in a marina nearby. Everybody started heading north on Sunday shortly after noon time in a long procession with the later boats enjoying quite a fresh breeze of 15-20kts astern.
This amazingly the short getaway felt much longer. We will definitely be putting together another get together soon truly hope you can and will join us!
