Overnight to Atlantic Highlands YC

We currently have 4-5 boats planning to make the trip to Atlantic Highlands and AHYC (seems moorings are scarce but the anchorage has excellent holding)

Optimal departure from Morris Canal is between 9:30 & 12:00 to take advantage of a fair tide through NY Harbor, Verrazano Narrows and a good port of the lower bay… (Updated… our 10kt beam-close reach has gone away it seems… Wind is currently forecast to be light and confused early Saturday so a motor to AHYC is now likely.)

We plan to meetup for sundowners around 4 pm. (Boat/s to be decide… Please monitor ch 63a)

Dinner ashore (if you wish) is available at multiple restaurants.

Hudson Cafe & Sissy’s are excellent options for breakfast on Sunday and we hope boats will get together in the AM.

The breeze looks to swing Southerly Saturday eve and should strengthen to around 15kts through Sunday afternoon.

So a fun race north may be in the cards !

A later departure is preferred to make a fair tide heading home as well and 3-3:30 would be the earliest if you wish to get a push home.
